hello craftgrrrrrl land!

so, i'm kind of in a rut with making scarves. you might recall me posting some photos of some scarves that i attached fabric rosettes onto. and while i like them and all, that's a whole lotta commitment! so, duh, why not make rosette brooches that are REMOVEABLE?! i is so smart! and dupioni silk is so darn wonderful, in it's shapeable goodness. see? see??

Pennies made before '82 (and the ones from early '82) were all copper. The ones from late '82 onward are zinc with copper plates. I handled so many, I can tell the difference. This book is made from 8 all copper pennies from my pocket, the week after I made the previous penny book.

These date from 1972 to 1982.

Anyone know where you can buy it? Has anyone ever used it on furniture? Is it easy to maintain? I plan to cover a sideboard with the stuff. I'm looking for something that is light (i was hoping for zebrawood) and not super expensive. Thanks!

Hello everyone! I had a question about dyeing fabric. I need the white parts in this fabric to be blue, so I was going to dye it. Will the dye also change the color of the brown, or will it be fairly unscathed?

And also, does anyone know where I could find a similar patterned fabric in blue and brown? Thought I'd throw it out there to see. :)

Thanks!

EDIT: Thanks for the help everyone!

I just finished making this reversible play mat turned toy bag out of these awesome 70's vintage sheets I picked up at a thrift store. Just pull on the drawstring to turn the whole thing into a bag that holds your toys until next time! Last year I made a million of these and gave them out as gift bags for birthdays and holidays with fun toy sets inside. At first mom likes them more than the kiddos, but the little ones come around pretty quick.

I hope this is okay to post here :)

I'm wanting to make a cover for my phone with felt and I'm doing to double layer the felt so its thick but I wasn't sure wether felt would scratch the screen on my phone or not? If it would, whats the best thing to line it with?

Thank you :)

Oh also, does anyone know of any apron patterns? I'm after one to make something like this one under the cut:

From Boojiboo off etsy )

I have some material I'd love to use but cannot find a pattern like it anywhere!! Sorry, I'm just not too sure where to look for things like this :)

Thanks again!
